On this seven day Rwanda safari, you trek Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National Park before you connect to Nyungwe for great primate encounters.

Day 1: Airport Pick up – Transfer to Volcanoes.

You are welcomed by our driver guide. If your flight is very early in the morning drive to Kigali for a city tour.

Have lunch and after drive to Volcanoes National Park. You can stay at Budget: Muhabura Hotel, Mid-range: Da Vince Lodge/ Le bamboo and Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or Bisate for luxury.

If the flight is in the afternoon or late evening then you can do the city tour on the last day of the trip.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking – Iby’wachu Cultural Village.

Have morning breakfast, after transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing conducted to highlight trekkers about Gorilla trekking.

Make sure to come with your packed food and drinking water from the lodge. After briefing, the Journey to the Jungle starts in search of these apes.

You are allowed to see Gorillas for one hour, after descend back to the Lodge for relaxation. In the evening you visit the Iby’wachu village for cultural encounters.

Day 3: Dian Fossey Hike

After your morning breakfast transfer to the Park headquarters to meet with other adventurers for a remarkable hike up to the Dian Fossey grave yard.

Reaching there, you tour around and visit the nearby research Centre to see the conservation work done by Dian Fossey during her times.

After return to the lodge for a transfer to Lake Kivu – relax at the beach and overnight stay at: Mid-range: Water front resort and Luxury: Lake Kivu Serena.

Day 4: Lake Kivu – Transfer to Nyungwe

Early in the morning, check out for a drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park in the South western part of Rwanda.

Lunch is provided en route. You will arrive in the evening. Check in at Gisakura Guest House for budget, Nyungwe Top View Lodge for mid-range and Nyungwe House for luxury.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe.

Be at the Park headquarters for briefing very early in the morning. After your driver with the ranger guide will drive for some kilometers up to the starting point in Chamudongo.

While in the Jungle, you are exposed to other primates and bird species. After some time with the chimpanzees, you start the journey back to the starting point for your drive back to the lodge.

Day 6: Canopy Walk in Nyungwe

While in east Africa, you can have this experience only in Rwanda’s Nyungwe forest. Before starting the Journey, you are first briefed about the walk. After you descend via rugged trails that wind through dense jungles up to the starting point.

It offers appealing views of tree tops, towering Virunga volcanoes, stretching vegetation and some bird species. After the walk, you ascend back to meet your guide.

Day 7: Drive to Kigali – City tour – Departure.

Have your breakfast and after check out to start the drive to Kigali. En route you can visit some historical sites like Nyanza palace, Butare Museum and Murambi memorial.

Once in Kigali, have lunch, visit the Kigali genocide memorial site and after transfer to the airport for your return flight.
